Web Quest: Survey Web 2.0 Affect on Ecommerce

Web 2.0 is a second generation of web based services and applications. It is a great way to communicate with each others, and for businesses. Also, it is a fast way to find the information people looking for. When I search for something, I only need what I need.

There are a lot of web applications out there, and there is also users are concern about the security. An uninterrupted technology is company need for their businesses. Most technologies today I believe are new, and some are re-designed and upgrade. Usually, new technology come out to the market, and the creators keep upgrade it a least once a year.

Explore Search Engine Optimization (ESO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engine. It shows the search results. It is also can get the different kinds of search, such as local, images, industry search and many more. Nowaday, I can go online and find almost everything I want.

The growing of the internet has made the major search engine big problems. In order to take care of these problems companies can improve their standing within a search engine by monitor, and optimize the site. Companies should set a timeline annually for evaluating the results. Also, companies should create unique titles for all pages. Unique titles can display in a search engine’s results.

Search engine is the key to a success for online business such as Amazon who anticipate client want and need. There are over one million sites out there trying to sell products. Offer the users a more reliable and relevant results, and being listed in the appropriate category of a directory, generating search engine results which are directly related to the company. Also, companies can generate qualified traffic for targeted market of products, and services.

Webs 2.0 are a service provider and make money through the users, because we are using it everyday. I do not believe the word “FREE”, there is nothing free. If it’s free, that mean someone have to pay for it. There are many web sites provider out there, and they have their own ways of dealing with marketing. Some of them wouldn’t survive.

The strategies to an ecommerce company on how to be successful in the Web 2.0 environment as following:

To be success, most online businesses need a long term plans rather than a short term. When online businesses begin no body know it right away. So, the company should campaign, paid to list the company in the first page in a search engine. Most users, including myself don’t go past the first page of search results and focus on the top.

The businesses need to provide the most accurate and reliable information that customer needed. Understand the customers, because they have the power and business need customer. Another important thing is the security, and privacy; make the customers trust your company. Customer services need to be high, and the stock availability. All of these strategies should get an ecommerce company to be success in the Web 2.0 environment.

As the online technology is growing very fast, and it’s only fast way to communicate and get the job done. Internet security is a concern for all users such as hackers, spasm, and your privacy information.

Today, some of the web sites are very popular, and in order to use them, they required the users to provide some personal information. Some of the users never know that their information is being share with others. Here are some tips: Before entering your personal information, you need to check if the web address is look right to you, and it is safe to do so by looking for https:// s mean security, and a lock sign in the bottom.

I would recommend is to install anti-virus software, firewall and keep them update. This software will help you to protect your computer from hackers. Hackers find home computer, corporate networks connection to the internet very appealing. Do not install any free software, unless you sure it's OK.

To protect your personal information on the web the best way is not to give out personal information, and don’t response to any rude or offensive email. Most online services are safe to use, but you have to use it caution. User need to encryption, create a secure password. I often change my password. If you use online banking, be careful with your PIN.

Last year, ene of my friends checked his account online, he went on wellsfargo.com and this time was different because they asked him to enter his debt card and PIN number. He did enter everything they asked for. After that he told about it. I told him “I don’t think the bank would ask you for your card number and PIN”. That was making him feel something wrong. He changed his password to account immediately, and hope everything is going to be OK. Several days later, a called from a bank, told him that somebody tried to withdraw some money from his account. The bad guys didn’t success, may be because he changed his password. The bank website he signed in wasn’t the real one. That was very scary.

For me I know there are a lot of bad guys out there online. Privacy is my most concern, but I still use internet to pay my bills and buy stuff. Even I am not really feel safe, but I trust the company, and I extremely careful. However, I am really careful what I enter, and I only pay bills online using my credit card with the company I know.

Privacy is the concern for all internet users. Here are some controls that would put in place to safe guard your children: Use parental control. This software help to block any questionable web sites and monitor your kids online.

Talk to you children would help too, even some kids wouldn't listen to their parent. Keep your child’s computer where you can see.

Second Life

After searching around about the second life, I have learned some about it. It's very intersting. However, I still have no idea what to do with it. If there someone to show me, I will be able to have a lot more fun with it. SL is very much like a game. It would be good for people who like to play game either online or not online. SL is you need to create your own, whatever you want to create. This could mean business.

I can see that SL would be good for education. When people create something with SL, they would learn a lot from it or to experimen. Good way or bad way, I don’t know.

In the future I hope to learn and experience more with second life.

Widgets

I alwayls like shortcut. Widgets allow me to see what I need to see on my screen for just one click. On my computer screen I have the yahoo weather forecast, so I know what happen, and what's going to happen. Another one is live update of gold. As the price of the gold keep going up, and I would like to keep track it. Not because I have a lof of gold, I don't have gold at all.

Mashup is also a web application. The different other web application because mashup combines two or more different sources of content into one. Mashup make it easy for the user that data and visual elements come for different sources. Their purpose is to help your need. When you searching something on Google, the results are come from different sources.

I will keep using Google as my search engine; because Google will help what I am looking for.

So far the program performs as stated. I using internet almost everyday, and I use two browsers they are Internet Explore and Mozilla Firefox. As long as I keep using internet, I will keep using this two browsers. I like them both, but internet explore is readable for all fonts, and Firefox is not. But Firebox is good for open more than one browser.

Social Networking

Well, I am not really an online social person for two reasons: First, I don't have access to the internet at home. Second, I don't have time. I used MSN chartroom before to talked to some of my friends around the worlds. I will take it slow and some difficulty for my professional online social networking as there are a lot for to learn the online new technology.

Elluminate

It’s amazing how this work even it is still not the same as in the classroom yet. But we can show each other on the screen. Wow, new technology! It's works like chartroom, but I like Elluminate better. It’s a great tool for online communication such as meeting. I am using computer at UAS computer lab, so I don’t have any trouble with connecting. Elluminate could be contributing to my professional development for my distance communication.

After I spent sometimes looking around, I did a search for “Computer Information Office Systems” which is my major. I got many results of this topic.

I would use Wikipedia as a resource for my profession, because there is a lot of information about my topic I found out there, and I believe the topic was creditable and accurate.
